Erica DiCeglie is an accomplished singer/songwriter performing regularly in Tampa, Fl. Her sweet and soulful vibe with a hint of country flair has been warming heart and gracing venues in Europe, across the United States, and most notably Florida, where she has opened for world renown bands such as Salvador, Big Daddy Weave, and Ginney Owens.
Erica began singing at a very young age and truly discovered her love for music when her godparents graciously let her borrow their beautiful upright piano on a long-term loan. She spent hours there, pouring through songbook after songbook, singing and playing them from cover to cover.
When she wasn’t sitting at the piano, you could be sure to find her in her room listening to her mother’s old records. The classic sounds of Linda Ronstadt, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, The Eagles and James Taylor further deepened her appreciation for music and assuredly influenced her musical style. Additionally, she says this of the Stevie Nicks album, “Bella Donna”.
“I was eight when my dad gifted me with this, and I couldn't stop listening. Pretty soon, I knew every lyric, melody and musical nuance. To this day, I still cherish and adore this album. It was my first musical love.”
A girl from a small town with a big dream, she left home to study musical theater performance at the prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. In her career, she has had starring roles in “Grease,” “The Fantasticks,” “Cabaret,” “Hair,” and “Jesus Christ Superstar,” to name a few.
She is currently happily residing with her husband and two children in Indian Rocks Beach, FL, where she is blessed to be the director of music for the Praise Band and Children’s Choir at St. Jerome Catholic Church. She has also had the incredible opportunity to perform at the famous Mahaffey Theater, The Straz Center for Performing Arts, Ruth Eckerd Hall and the Largo Cultural Center.
Together with the talented musicians who make up the “Erica DiCeglie Band” she has traveled the Bay area and has been a memorable highlight at numerous weddings, concerts and special events, including performances at “The Taste of Clearwater”, “Dunedin Wines the Blues”, “Clearwater Jazz Holiday”, “Sugar Sand Festival”, “Artistic Tastings”, “Belleair Wine and Tapas”, “Oktoberfest”, “Festival of Trees”, “Rock the Kilt”, “Women of Song” and “Musicians of Note”, as well as too many others to mention. Erica also has loved bringing her unique music to the stages of many local clubs, restaurants and breweries over the last several years.
Erica has an immense passion as a recording artist and for songwriting. In 2003, this passion was realized when she recorded her first album, “Because You Called”, a collection of original and cover Christian songs. In 2012, she released her second album, “The Way Here”, which features some of her most acclaimed compositions, namely, “79 Arsenal Street”, “The Seasons of My Heart”, and “The Bell Tolls”. With her immense love for Christmas, you can also find her on her 2013 album, “My Gift to Bring”, covering groovin’ and heartfelt arrangements of your Christmas favorites, featuring some of the best musicians in the area.
She is on the brink of releasing her most prized creation yet: an EP of some new, original songs, all inclusive of her theatrical approach to her lyrics and her love of the magic of telling a story through song. Stay tuned for the official release date!
Erica’s musical styles include pop, soft rock, R&B, blues and country. She is currently inspired and often compared to the likes of Norah Jones, Sara Bareilles, Martina McBride and Alison Krauss. Erica combines the best of the present, in a compelling, authentic and singular voice and style that is hers alone.
